Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us, so this page explains in plain words what happens to your information when you use YouTube Video Download. It is short, simple and honest.
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Overview
YouTube Video Download is a free tool. You paste a YouTube link, pick a quality, and the file opens in a new browser tab. That is the whole idea.
To make this work, we need very little from you. We don't ask for your name. We don't ask for an account. This policy covers the small amount of information that is used while you visit, and why.
What We Do Not Collect
Many people worry that a download site keeps track of everything they save. We don't. Here is what we never collect or keep:
- No account details. There is no sign-up, no login and no password.
- No files. The video or audio comes straight from YouTube's servers to your browser. We don't host or store any of it.
- No download history. We keep no list of the videos you looked up or the files you saved.
- No payment details. The tool is free, so we never ask for card or bank information.
The Video Link You Paste
When you paste a link and tap the button, that link is sent so the tool can look up the video. This is how it finds the title, the length and the list of qualities you can choose from.
The link is used once, for that one lookup, and then it's gone. We don't save it, and we don't connect it to you. If you come back tomorrow and paste the same link, the tool simply looks it up again from scratch.
Information Collected Automatically
Like almost every website, ours is hosted by a company that keeps basic technical records. Our host is Cloudflare. When your phone or computer loads a page, standard logs may note things such as:
- Your IP address (a number your internet connection uses online)
- Your browser and device type
- The date and time of your visit
Why These Logs Exist
These records are used for two things only: keeping the site safe and keeping it working. For example, they help block attacks, stop abuse and spot technical problems.
We don't use these logs to build a profile of you, and we don't sell them to anyone.
Google Analytics and Cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used overall. It tells us things like how many visits we get, which pages people open, and whether most visitors are on a phone or a computer. These are anonymous statistics that help us make the site easier to use.
Google Analytics uses cookies. A cookie is a tiny text file your browser saves. You are always free to say no to cookies. Here are a few easy ways:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. On most phones, look under Settings, then Privacy or Site settings.
- Use a private or incognito window, which clears cookies when you close it.
- Install Google's free Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on on your computer browser, which stops Analytics from recording your visits.
Messages Sent Through the Contact Form
If you write to us using the Contact page, we receive what you type, along with the contact details you choose to give us so we can answer.
We use your message only to reply to you. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't share your message with anyone for marketing.
Third-Party Services
A few outside services help the site run. Each one has its own privacy policy, which you can read on their websites.
- YouTube and Google: the videos and audio come from YouTube's own servers. When a file opens in your browser, it loads directly from them.
- Cloudflare: hosts the site and protects it from attacks and abuse.
- Google Analytics: gives us anonymous statistics about visits.
Children
This site is not meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent and think your child has sent us personal information, please tell us through the Contact page and we will delete it.
Data Security
We keep things safe mostly by keeping very little. Since we don't store files, links or download history, there isn't much to protect in the first place.
The site is served over a secure connection, and Cloudflare helps guard it against attacks. Still, no website can promise perfect security, so we always try to keep the information we handle as small as possible.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. In simple terms, you can ask us to:
- Access: tell you what information we have about you, if any.
- Correction: fix information that is wrong.
- Deletion: erase information we hold about you, such as a message you sent.
- Objection: stop using your information in a certain way.
How to Ask and How Changes Work
To use any of these rights, just send us a message through the Contact page. We will do our best to answer kindly and quickly.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature or change a service we use. When that happens, the new version will appear on this page. Checking back now and then is the easiest way to stay up to date.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or your information, please reach out to us through the Contact page.
